Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a fee to come in and paint?
Nope! No fees. All of our activities are priced per piece/project.
Do I need to make a reservation to come and paint?
Reservations are not needed to come in and paint. If you wish to schedule a party, or event either during our normal business hours or after hours, give us a call.
We would recommend a heads up for groups of 8 or more, so that we can make sure we have room for a larger group.
Will my pottery be food safe?
YES! All of our glazes are non-toxic and food safe! Everything painted is dipped in a clear glaze that makes everything food safe when fired. You can sip and eat safely!
Can I put my pottery in the microwave or dishwasher?
Yes you can, but we suggest hand washing and limited microwave use to prolong the life of your pottery pieces.

Why is there a 7 to 10 day turnaround to get pottery back?
Once you paint your pottery, we allow the piece to dry overnight. The items are then glazed and "fired", which is a two-day process. We will always do our best to get your items back to you in a timely manner, but at times will need more time to get everything ready.

What are those little marks on my finished pieces?
Those are stilt marks. We apply a clear glaze to your painted items before firing them in the kiln. To ensure that the items do not stick to the shelves, they are placed on metal stilts to keep them elevated. We then grind down any sharp edges with a fine grain Dremel tool. Also, we do our best to stilt your pottery in a way that is the least noticeable. Usually on the bottom.

Do you have a last seating time? If the studio is empty 1 hour before closing time, we will have a "last-seating". It is normally at least an hour-long process to choose your item, pick your paint colors, and settle in to painting.

I am a potter. May I use your kiln?
We are sorry, but no. It's hard to know exactly what each piece is made from, and we can't take a chance that our customers pieces would be damaged in the firing process.

Can I eat/drink in the studio?
Food and drink is fine during a scheduled party, but limited during open studio, please be aware of the need to be careful with grease, or food, on your hands during painting. It can potentially keep the paint from properly adhering to the pottery.

What payment methods do you accept?
